Welcome to My Digital Self

I am Dr. Nepoleon Prabakaran, an academic, researcher, and corporate trainer who accidentally wandered from banking cubicles into university hallways—and decided to stay. Currently, I serve as an Assistant Professor at Alliance Ascent College, a constituent college of Alliance University, Bengaluru. My goal is simple: make Marketing, Operations Research, and Decision Sciences engaging enough that students occasionally forget to check their smartphones.

From Technology to Business

My academic journey combines technology, business, and research. I earned a B.Tech in Information Technology from Panimalar Engineering College, where I learned to communicate with machines. Later, I completed an MBA in Marketing and Analytics from the Amrita School of Business, where I shifted my focus to understanding people and markets.

Before entering academia, I worked as a Deputy Manager at ICICI Bank, managing retail banking operations. That experience gave me practical exposure to customer behavior, decision-making, and leadership. Looking back, it was also one of the best lessons in emotional intelligence.

My Research Journey

My greatest passion is understanding why people think, behave, and make decisions the way they do. I have completed my Ph.D. in Management to Jain University (2026), where my research explores the future of consumer purchasing behavior in the metaverse.

Evidence-Based Research

I believe meaningful academic theories should always be supported by evidence. Instead of relying only on traditional questionnaires, I integrate behavioral approaches with analytical tools such as Google Trends to examine consumer purchase intentions and market behavior. My work also investigates the real-world impact of interventions such as job crafting on employee flourishing in the rapidly evolving IT sector.

By combining analytics with behavioral science, I aim to produce research that is both academically rigorous and practically relevant for organizations and policymakers.

Publications and Research Impact

My commitment to evidence-based research has resulted in more than 25 scholarly publications, including articles indexed in Scopus and Web of Science (WoS). My work has also received Best Paper Awards at international conferences held in Bangalore, Madrid, and Croatia.

For readers interested in exploring my research in greater depth, below is a selection of my most impactful peer-reviewed publications, complete with direct links to the published work.

Of course, conducting this level of quantitative and qualitative research requires a robust technical toolkit. I, Nepoleon Prabakaran thoroughly equipped to crunch the numbers, boasting skills in Data Science using R and Python, alongside a Desktop Specialist certification in Tableau (which essentially means I know how to make complex data look undeniably good). When the research data plays hard to get, I rely on analytical software like SPSS, AMOS, and NVivo. But I am not just a data-crunching academic machine; beyond the university walls, I regularly conduct training programs on AI research tools and leadership for global giants like Boeing and Tietoevry. When I finally close my laptop, I stay sharp by stepping into the boxing ring or onto the volleyball court, and I keep my creativity alive through drawing, reading, and occasionally practicing mimicry—an incredibly useful, albeit unconventional, skill for keeping students engaged during early morning lectures. Whether you are looking to collaborate on the future of the Metaverse or upskill your team in AI, let’s connect and build the future of management together.
